AROUND THE MOON
There's
a ring around the moon tonight;
The mist is chill in the midnight air
Soft and hazed in the silvered dark-
Beware.
The shadows fall on the grass tonight;
The hollows gape with shadowed greed
Magics cast in the gathered gloom;
Take heed.
If you venture out in the world tonight;
Let cobwebs touch your chilling cheek
Unchancy things adrift in forms
Oblique.
Remember; if you rove the dark;
Immortals' welcome may be cold
You have no keys to the fair ones' realm
Of gold.
