A BOY’S BEST FRIEND (1999)

Sim thinks the stray dog he has taken in is his best friend, but it is in league with time-travelling slave-traders. Sim and his lame friend Mel meet on the way to the auction block, so Sim has to think fast.

This is a very brief novel, and one I'm quite pleased with. There isn't much thriller-sci-fi about for nine year olds.

BLUE GOLD (1999)

Sequel to SPIRAL STAIRS (see S page). Erin and the other colonists have been on the planet Azuria for nearly a year. The crops are failing and it seems their great adventure may come to a premature and ignominious end when the supply ship comes. Erin, Cambria and Albia decide to go hiking. They are soon lost in the mist, but Mimic, their inhuman friend, shows them a way to solve the colony problems.

BLUE MOON ANIMAL DAY (1987)

A rhyming story about what happens to the animals when the moon is blue... also contains the stories THE FROWNING FARMER and CAROLINE'S CURRY and THE PUMPKINS' REVENGE.

A BASKET OF ONIONS (2000)

A historical adventure in which Jan and his sister Sibella undertake to carry a rare black tulip bulb to market in 17th Century Holland.

I really enjoyed writing this one ... it's my homage to Geoffrey Trease, who wrote such wonderful historical adventure stories when I was young.
