Brown, Clair, Curran,
Gemdrake, Mistra Misty.
BROWN is Lord Toombs of Zimmerhanzel's second son, half-brother to
Scholar Ankooria. Brown appears only briefly
in the novel, but his father would prefer to set him in Scholar's place as
heir. Brown is named for my friend and fellow-writer Benita Brown.
The GEMDRAKE is an ageless and capricious dragon, known to Master Wootton. Its name recalls that of
my friend and fellow-writer Angela Dracup (Angela Drake).
MISTRA MISTY of CURRAN is a friend of Merrit Tormblood, and is also Tegwen Hasselsjo's aunt. Misty is a herb-warden, and was named
for a grand old lady dog (Misty Gregory) and my friendly one-time editor Sue
Curran.
CLAIR VILLAGE is The Soulbinder's last port of call before she arrives at Torm.
Clair is a pretty mountain village, named for my friend and
fellow writer Daphne Clair de Jong.
