Lord TOOMBS OF ZIMMERHANZEL.

(pronounced; Lord Tombs of Zimm-er-han-zel).

Lord Toombs owns Zimmerhanzel Castle in Northern McAnerin. More ambitious and more ruthless than his neighbour, Lord Sheels, Toombs is disappointed in his heir, the un-warlike Scholar Ankooria.

Toombs would prefer to disinherit Scholar in favour of his half-brother, Brown, but Scholar is the elder. When offered a chance to establish Scholar elsewhere, Toombs grabs it. He is not entirely to blame, as the Soulbinder has powers to work on the worst of people. Toombs is good at double-crossing people. He gains Lord Sheels' help by hinting that he will marry his son to Lord Sheels' daughter - in reality he has another bride in mind. Lord Toombs is double-crossed himself by the Soulbinder.

Lord Toombs and his castle are named for my friends and fellow writers Jane Toombs and Linda Zimmerhanzel. He is featured in Candle-Iron.
