TEGWEN
HASSELSJO.
(pronounced; Teg-wen Hass-el-sher)
Tegwen is the eldest daughter of Lord
Sheels
of Hasselsjo. She is rather a problem to her father, for she is strong minded
as well as beautiful.
Sheels thinks it an excellent idea to marry Tegwen off to Scholar
Ankooria,
thus establishing her in a castle of her own while removing her without
prejudice from his own household. Tegwen has other ideas.
"Tegwen Hasselsjo laughed. 'I believe Lord Merrit thinks we
are fond of one another!' she said. 'Tell him we are not!' "
Hasselsjo Castle is named for my friend and fellow-writer Pauline
Hasselsjo, and Tegwen is named partly after my daughter, Tegan. She is featured
in the book Candle-Iron .
