LEONARD GATES.
(pronounced; Len-ard Gates)
Leonard is a girl from our world, who wanders into the world of McAnerin while staying at Connishall
Residential Centre. Avoiding an uncomfortable situation, Leonard goes through a
door and finds herself at Conners' Hall, a cavern-like structure that once
housed a kind of university. These days, it is inhabited by Master
Wootton,
the Seer.
Leonard is stranded in McAnerin, but she finds compensations. She
learns to do a small amount of magic, and makes several interesting
acquaintances. Leonard is tall with dark curly hair, brown eyes and a single
earring. She has a strong sense of justice, which makes life uncomfortable
until she learns more about Wootton's ways.
Leonard Gates is named for my friend and fellow writer Tina
Leonard. She is featured in the book Candle-Iron .
